What is Thermal Spray?
Thermal spray is a process that involves depositing molten, semi-molten, or solid particles onto a substrate to form a functional coating or a freestanding part. The particles travel at high velocity, causing them to flatten on impact with the substrate. These flattened particles, known as “splats,” build up to form the final coating or part.

PTWA (Plasma Transferred Wire Arc)
PTWA or Plasma Transferred Wire Arc is a robust plasma thermal spray process originally designed to coat the internal surface of engine cylinder bores. This technology is currently in production at multiple facilities worldwide including high volume production.
Kinetic Spray
Kinetic Spray is a production-ready coating process currently running at multiple facilities. This process can coat or repair parts achieving excellent material properties.
Twin Wire Arc Electrospray
Flame-Spray has been providing twin wire arc systems since 1964. The Twin Wire Arc Electrospray system has been engineered to operate in a robust, reliable, and economical manner to produce high quality coating at high deposition rates.
